Author Spotlight Interview with T.S. Krupa

I'm excited to have T.S. Krupa with us today! Please enjoy her Q&A with us and make sure to leave a comment! You could win a copy of her book!

T.S. Krupa was born in New Haven,
Connecticut. Raised in a Polish
household with a blended American
culture, she is fluent in Polish. She
graduated with her bachelor’s degree
from Franklin Pierce University, where
she also played field hockey. She earned
her Master’s from Texas Tech University
and plans to graduate with her Doctor of
Education from North Carolina State University in 2014.
She lives in North Carolina with her husband and dog.
This is her first novel.

What is your favorite thing about being a writer?
I love that writing allows you to be creative, it allows you to day dream and it allows you take risks that you can’t always take in ‘real-life’. I have always been involved in academics and scholarly writing most of my life and this process is so freeing and liberating coming from that aspect.

What was the hardest part of writing your book?
The hardest part was publishing. Not in the sense of the process of publishing – finding a publisher, editing etc. But actually putting the book out there for people to read, it’s terrifying. You work on something for so long and it becomes a part of you that you hope others can relate as well.

What do you hope readers take with them after reading one of your stories?
I hope they take away a story of friendship, discovery and hope. It’s not a traditional romance but it takes the readers and main character on a journey that everyone can relate to on the most basic levels.

Do you write under more than one name? Why?
I do write under a pen name for two reasons. First is that my married name is super long and hard to say and I wanted to make things easy. Secondly, I still have a full time job and I wanted to create a little space between writing and my job.

How do your family and/or friends feel about your book or writing venture in general?
When I wrote Safe & Sound I didn’t tell anyone so I didn’t give them a chance to be supportive or disapprove. After it was published the response has been so overwhelming!! I feel so blessed every day to be doing what I am doing and to have the support I do.

When Jill met Jay Greenfield she knew she had found
her forever love. She was a kindergarten teacher, he was
a high-powered attorney and their lives were perfect. But
when a tragic accident takes Jay’s life, this young bride
is left to pick up the pieces.

Jill finds herself a young widow facing multiple decisions
she thought she had a lifetime to decide. With support
from her childhood best friends, Lanie and Stella, Jill
attempts to piece her life back together. With nightmares
plaguing her dreams and the struggles of constant grief
over Jay’s passing, Stella and Lanie keep near constant
vigilance over her.

In the process of settling the estate, Jill learns that her
husband was not quite the man she thought he was. She
finds herself transported to the small beach town of Oak
Island, North Carolina. But the fairy tale ending she
envisioned no longer exists. She must face the reality
that Jay is gone as she finds herself having a chance at
love one more time.

Safe & Sound follows a yearlong journey of love, loss,
friendship, and conquering the unexpected.

Would you consider writing a sequel to Safe and Sound? I got so invested in each character. I would love to see where T. S. Krupa imagination would take them
