Oh the mighty Blake Shelton...he can drive it home!
This week my musical muse is the song DOIN WHAT SHE LIKES.
I relate a lot of Blake's non-drinking songs to that tender man every woman is looking for. In regard to my own characters from my books, I tend to lean toward the understanding man. This isn't to say the heroes in my books don't have an alpha-male side, but they seem to want to make the woman happy. And c'mon, with most of the romance readers being women (I know...not all of them...but most) we want to see that a man would do what the woman wants without compromise.
DOIN WHAT SHE LIKES encompasses that compassionate man. The one who will set up the mood, compliment freely, and pay attention to the little things that make a woman hum in satisfaction--the everyday kinds of things.
This particular song reminds me of my husband, as many of my heroes do as well. He too would know just what I like and how I like it. I'm guessing that is what women find so appealing to Blake Shelton--he's doing what they like.
I hope you enjoy the song. Here is the link to the lyrics...just so you know what moves me.
