Last year when the Romance Novel Convention was being put together I got an invite via Facebook. I said, "sure, I'll go." Well so many things came and went over the year and this just was no longer important and I wasn't going to go. Along comes one of my authors from my publishing company and she's a finalist in one of the contests. She's going to go. And my head editor and one of my line editors are going to support her. Well as the owner of the publishing house I needed to get to thinking about this a little harder! Today I registered in I'm headed to the Romance Novel Convention 2013 in Las Vegas.
As I watched the money process on my credit card I'm thinking, "I have too much going on to attend a conference in its first year." I have been to other conventions in their first few years and oh what a mess. I could tell you stories, but I won't.
As I get to looking though what will be offered to us professionals I'm beginning to get giddy. There is great opportunity for my company, 5 Prince Publishing, to promote our great authors and to meet aspiring authors too! And as an author, the possibilities are great! The prices are GREAT! I'll be able to do sponsorship I couldn't do with some of the other organizations out there.
This is a conference for readers and authors of Romance...my favorite genre.
A costume ball? Really? Okay...I'm game.
And the best part is everything is all inclusive! The last conference I attended everything was extra! (Not a way to win me over! So this is a PLUS!)
So yes, I wasn't sure at first, but in 6 weeks I'll be in the hot Nevada heat in some Victorian dress with some of the best people I know and a chance to meet others in my industry! I love to network and meet new people, so this can't go bad no matter what!
